Thanks to everyone for checking in on me. So here’s a little update…..I’ve lost a total of 6lbs so far on NutriSystem (NS). Yippeee!!!! It hasn’t been that hard actually. Since I only eat the Nutrisystem foods, I know I can;t have anything unless it is in the box. Now I have indulged a little on some non-NS foods, but it is really easy to get back on the wagon the very next meal.
Another cool thing is that when my Mom found out I had ordered NS, she brought me the leftovers from when she and my sister tried it. So now I have about a months worth of free NS food. I keep it all in boxes in my dining room so it is easy to get to. I don’t need any obstacles in my way and I have so much of the food, I have to eat it to get it out of the way.
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while but my family has been going through a tough time right now. I normally wouldn’t burden anyone with my problems but I would really appreciate some positive energy sent our way. My mother’s niece/ my first cousin was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. I will spare you the details, but it is very, very serious and none of the news looks very promising. So I am asking that everyone do what they can to send some positive energy. No matter what your beliefs, please pray, meditate, chant or sacrifice a chicken if you have to but please keep my family in your thoughts. I would really appreciate it.

Inappropriate I know, but a sense of humor helps a lot during tough times

I’m so sorry about your cousin; I will send good thoughts and prayers your way. I worked with doctors who had patients with brain tumors and there’s a lot of new technology out there (like our gamma knife). Keep us posted.
And, good news with the weight loss! Yay for you!
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. My cousin has an appointment with a specialists here in Birmingham on Monday. UAB Hospital (in B’ham) has a gamma knife too so hopefully that will something they will pursue

I’m so sorry to hear the sad news about your cousin. Is she a child or an adult? I’ll be thinking good thoughts (no chicken sacrificing, however!)
Good on you losing 6 lbs.
Thanks for the good thoughts. My cousin is 53yo (but she looks about 40). My Mom was a surprise to my grandparents later in life so all of my first cousins are old enough to be my parents.

My husband’s dad battled brain cancer two years ago and a very close friend has it right now. It is so scary, and I feel for you. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m a cancer survivor, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not thankful for friends and family that helped me through it. God bless you for being supportive and caring.
