Sorry for the long absence. I’m not losing weight like I should but I’m holding steady…

So we have one month until we begin 2008. Have you thought about your New Year’s Resolution?? I gave up resolving to lose weight for the new year a long time ago. I am only setting myself up for disappointment. The only resolution I have ever kept was to recycle more. I figured I could have resolved to be nicer to people but putting cans in a separate bag seemed a lot easier. I’ve been recycling for two years now. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have to stuck to that except my city has curbside recycling pick-up.So I’ve been thinking about what I need to do for 2008. Instead of saying I want to “lose weight”, I might just say I will “exercise more”. I need some ideas…….
WHAT ARE YOUR NEW RESOLUTIONS GOING TO BE??

So glad to see you back!!! And holding steady is a good thing…
My first thought when you said “exercise more” was that you should quantify that. Maybe “exercise four times a week” instead. I find that I look too much to tomorrow, then the next day, then the next day when I shoot for just “more,” but getting a certain number in before the calendar rolls to the next week is much easier to track.
I haven’t decided on my resolutions (if any) yet, I’ll have to get back to you on that…

glad to see u back.. truth be told I never resolve to do anything because it never works that way.. so instead of making promises I will not keep.. I start getting myself motivated .. for example when I decided it was time to care about myself and start losing weight I picked January 22 as a starting date and come hell or high water I DID IT.. and I had a lot of things pulling at me not to use that date.. since that date I have lost 31 pounds.. I have 50 to go.. so all I can say is.. pick a random day to be your starting point to do something you know you need to do.. worked for me…

I haven’t completely figured mine out yet, but, like you, I normally give up on them anyway. A year is just too long. I think I’m going to try something different . . . . New Month’s Resolutions. That gives me 12 resolutions a year, and it doesn’t seem like such a commitment.

I’m starting to get excited about the New Year – my main resolution for the next year is to enjoy life, stress less, connect more with family and friends.
I have a couple others such as – exercise at least 3 times a week (and work up to more eventually), to organize my house (at least 1 small project a week – i.e. a drawer, a box, etc.).
I am sticking to making my goals specific so I can set specific tasks and hopefully actually get some progress going. In the past I’d make grand plans, and either be overwhelmed and never start or just give up before actually getting major any thing done.
I’m also not going to beat myself up if I don’t stick to my resolutions perfectly.

Glad to see you back!
I think my resolutions are to be healthier, move more and be more satisfied with myself (in other words, stop beating myself up).

Relax, refresh, and come back stronger and more committed than ever.

Merry Christmas, SFF. When you are skinny, will you still be this funny? OF COURSE!
Go easy on yourself during the holidays. Don’t beat yourself up for eating one too many cookies. Just don’t eat one too many TRAYS of cookies.
See ya next year, my friend!

Hope the New Year will bring enough weight loss, I know it’s hard this time of year but in 2008 we can make a difference!
Thanks for visiting my site over the past year.
I believe you can do it!

I just had two kid’s I use to be so energetic. but with a 23 month old and a 7 month old. it takes me everything just to get out of the house. I really need to find a plan to stick too. i have so much clothes i would like to get into someday. I really need some motivation. spring is coming, so I think the beautiful mornings will make it easier for me to get out with the kid’s.
