Hi, there.
I am a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, writing about “fatblogging.” Would you mind if I talked with you for my story? You can check me out at the above link. I write about technology (and, in the past, video games).
Thanks very much,
Alex

What will you think of next? I would never have thought you would get online to do this. And No, I didn’t know what a blog was. As you know I was once skinny in a past life, but my kids caused me to change. The last one left behind the most. After the first one I was so unhappy, I guess thats why I lost it all. The second came when I was happy. and I am still happy with my husband and family. They say you tend to gain weight when you are happy with your life, unless you a depression eater. (Which I am not) My goal is to go from 221 to 180. Being 6 foot you have to keep a little weight. I don’t want to be 6 ft and 120 like I once was. I see old pics now and I was sick looking. Maybe we can help each other…even at a distance.

Did you take a look at my “before” picture?? AHHH!! At least you can say you gained weight by having children. What is my excuse? I’m a depression and happy eater. I’m using a book called the Beck Diet Solution (lots of links to it in my comments). It is helping me with the mental aspects of my relationship with food. Big sis and Mama both went and got it this weekend and they have been reading this blog and commenting. So we can all help each other long distance!
love you

We work with Dr. Ian Smith, he’d well-known as the MD on Vh1’s hit TV Show “Celebrity Fit Club” and author of the New York Times Bestsellers Fat Smash Diet and Extreme Fat Smash Diet.
Dr. Ian is also the spokesperson for the successful 50 Million Pound Challenge; a historic campaign by the African-American community encouraging people to take back their health, by saving lives, getting fit and losing weight. So far, more than 250,000 people have signed up at 50millionpounds.com and contributed to the early success of the initiative.
The Challenge aims to reach its 50 million pound goal by making it easier for millions of people to get fit, lose weight & turn back the epidemic of weight-related diseases threatening half of all Americans. The African-American community has been especially hard hit. Every week, ten thousand people die from heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer and other illnesses related to diet & inactivity. Today, 135 million Americans and 2 in 3 adults are overweight, double the rate a few decades ago. For African Americans, 80% of women and 67% of men face higher risk from excess weight. To fight back, The Challenge has enlisted more than 50 leaders from the community and national civic & health organizations. It visits Washington, DC, Baltimore, Miami, Memphis, Cleveland, Houston, Detroit, Milwaukee, Atlanta, St. Louis, Chicago, New York, Oakland & New Orleans.
THE GREAT NEWS: The Challenge, has reached more than 1-Million Pounds!!!

Love the website. Raw. Real. I’m an exercise physiologist in rural Alaska. I work with Yup’ik Eskimos and lower 48′ers that came up here for various reasons. We don’t have organic food stores, nor 24-hour fitness gyms. I’d love to become a consistent contributor to your website. There’s a lot of garbage info out there that sells magazines, but makes weight loss an endless battle. Simplicity is key.
